Nick Cannon Opens Up About His Wife Mariah Carey And Her Diva Ways Even At The Birth Of Their Twins

Mariah Carey has a singing voice to be reckoned with and so too do her diva ways.

Even her husband Nick Cannon recently expressed that the recent birth of their twins was ‘over the top’.

During a recent interview on ‘The Talk’, Cannon described how he was the ‘production manager’ during the birth of their twins.

Nick revealed that he filmed the labor and controlled the music while doctors adjusted the lighting.

Mariah, 41, had ordered that her 1995 live performance of Fantasy must be played as the babies arrived so that they would be born to a round of applause.

Nick, 30, told the chat show, ‘It was definitely over the top. I was the production manager of the whole production. I was the DJ. I had the camera on one hand.

‘The lighting had to be perfect. My wife was like, ‘if you’ve got a camera, you make sure the lighting is right.’ The doctors were adjusting the lights.

‘But it was amazing because she wanted a certain song to be playing when the babies came out.

‘She wanted Fantasy, from her live performance from Madison Square Gardens so they could come out to a round of applause.

‘It was a production, holding the camera, hitting the record, like ‘They’re coming, let’s go.’

The twins were named Moroccan and Monroe and are now four months old.

They were born on the couple’s wedding anniversary.

Nick proceeded to shock the talk show panel, which included Sharon Osborne, when he revealed that he and Mariah renewed their vows just hours after the birth of their kids.

‘That’s how much of a diva my wife is – not only did she give birth to twins, hours later she was in a gown, in hair and make up.’

The America’s Got Talent host said his children’s personalities were already showing through, with Monroe being a lot like her famous mother.

‘My daughter is a diva. My son is laid back. When he wakes up, he wakes up smiling. He’ll wait for a minute and if he’s hungry, he’ll let you know.

‘My daughter is just instant, she goes in and will not stop crying til you give her what she wants. It’s like sleep and then screaming.

‘My daughter is just on one all the time.’

Mariah fans have not been given the opportunity to see the famous twins.

The only photo the couple released was of Monroe with a hand covering her face.

Mariah tweeted the picture, with the comment, ‘This is baby Monroe saying “no pictures dahhhhling” at 7+1/2 weeks..oh dear ’

Nick said Mariah was relishing her role as a new mother.

‘It’s amazing to see her as a mum and to be so nurturing. Her instincts are right on point.’

Nick also revealed that he had had a crush on Carey years before he knew her.

‘It was one of those things, I spoke it into existence. People would say, ‘who is your celebrity crush’ and I was like, ‘I love Mariah Carey.’ And she heard me talking about it.’

Cannon and Carey met backstage at an awards show. Mariah apparently approached Cannon and they eventually got together after discussing ideas for a video.

‘She said ‘I heard all those nice things’ and I was like, ‘I meant every word!”

‘It was just everything, an instant connection from the very first time we sat down. It was always like, ‘you like that too? You like going to the amusement parks too?’’

He added, ‘I’m a hopeless romantic. I have always been that way and I’ve never met someone who is as much as hopeless romantic as myself until I met my wife.

‘It’s a great time, a dream come true. That’s what I say – she is my dream girl.’
