The Inside Scoop – Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries Say I Do

The much anticipated wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries is nearly over and the newlyweds are ready to move on to the happily ever after part.

The reality star and her basketball star partner were married yesterday evening at a private estate in Montecito, California.

Minutes before the 6.30pm sunset ceremony, Kris Humphries wrote on his Twitter page: ‘This is it!’

They were surrounded by hundreds of family and friends and of course the paparazzi including  E! News and People exclusively.

Kim looked gorgeous in a custom made Vera Wang gown. Her spokesperson revealed that the bride wore an ivory custom-designed strapless Vera Wang gown with full tulle skirt, basque waist and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué on the bodice and ‘epic’ train.

It was also reported that the bride wore her hair up and off her face. She also had a jeweled headpiece with diamonds that ‘dripped on to Kim’s forehead. Her veil remained off her face for the walk down the aisle with her step father Bruce Jenner. She wore Guiseppe Zanotti shoes.

It has been reported that Kim has two more wedding dresses, both also designed by Vera Wang, to change into throughout the reception.

The groom looked dashing in an Ermenegildo Zegna tuxedo with a white jacket and tie.

The husband and wife team exchanged Lorraine Schwartz wedding bands which is the same designer behind Kim’s 20.5-carat engagement ring.

The rest of the wedding party included Kim’s sisters who all wore ivory Vera Wang bridesmaid dresses.

Humphries’ groomsmen which also included brother-in-law Rob Kardashian, wore black Zegna tuxedos.

The dads of the bride and groom Bruce Jenner and William Humphries also looked handsome in their black Zegna tuxedos.

Self-proclaimed “momzilla” Kris Jenner who is the mother of the bride also donned Vera Wang for the occasion. It looks as though she tried to upstage the bride in her own dress. She was spotted talking to staff on the grounds before the wedding wearing a strapless white gown with an over-the-top bow across the bodice.

She has now watched two of her daughters, Kim and Khloe, walk down the aisle.

The co-maid of honor Kourtney almost stumbled as she walked down the aisle holding her son and ring bearer Mason which caused a gasp from the guests.

But she steadied herself and little Mason rushed down the aisle ahead of her.

The order of service included an emotional tribute to Kris Humphries late grandparents and Kim’s late father Robert Kardashian.

Kim wrote: ‘I so wish my dad could be here today to walk me down the aisle. But I know in a way he is here, and I feel his loving presence all around me. I love and miss you, dad.’

The wedding was a star studded affair which included lots of familiar faces including Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne, Lindsay Lohan with mom Dina and sister Ali, Eva Longoria, Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough, Kathy Lee Gifford, Mel B, Brittny Gastineau, LaLa Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony, Sugar Ray Leonard, The Spin Crowd’s Jonathan Cheban, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Alan Thicke, Mario Lopez, Ciara, Joe Francis, George Lopez, Venus and Serena Williams, Lara Spencer, Maria Menounos, Simon Huck and Jillian Barberie, many of whom had tweeted beforehand about how excited they were for Kim’s big day.

Members of the New Jersey Nets were also given permission to be part of the special despite a rule that prevents teammates from being in contact during the NBA lockout. It was really great to have everyone together because Jordan Farmar who is Humphries’ current Nets cohort and Odom’s former Lakers teammate, is the guy who introduced the bride and groom!

Guests at the wedding were treated to high security measures including metal detectors and having their phones and cameras taken away.

The multipart festivities had been cloaked in confidentiality from the start from the day the $250 invitations arrived swearing guests to secrecy and informing them of the black-and-white wardrobe required for the wedding,  to the not-until-go-time reveal of Kim’s gown.

The reason for this is that E! has exclusive rights to the behind-the-scenes wedding special which will be aired in two parts on October 9-10.

Can we wait that long?

In an interview with Ryan Seacrest yesterday, Kim had expressed surprise over how calm she felt though she admitted to already freaking out over “everything and anything” about a week ago.

While the newlyweds will not be going on honeymoon for now, the party sure isn’t over. Mr. and Mrs. Kris Humphries and their guests will cap off the night with a lavish reception nearby.

Kim said that she was hoping all of her guests would appreciate how “fun and glitz and glam” the night was going to be. She said, “It will be so intimate, and so…really heartfelt. And they will think, ‘Oh my God, that dress.’”

It emerged yesterday that Kim was forced to cut 50 people from her overflowing list, according to Life & Style magazine.

Some of the cut guests included family members of step-father Bruce Jenner.

It was claimed that after learning of all the filming equipment that will be inside the venue to shoot the party for Kim’s E! wedding special, the fire marshal warned Kardashian to cut down the list.

Kim urged her fans to leave messages on her virtual wedding guestbook, adding, ‘Even though you can’t all be there to help me celebrate today, it would mean so much to me if you would sign my ‘Virtual Wedding Guestbook‘by leaving a comment below!’

The couple’s first home will be the penthouse suite at the Gansevoort Park Avenue, the NY Post reports.
